Stones Cottages is a family run business. We are trying to create a place where people can come on holiday whilst having a minimal environmental impact.
The holiday cottages have been lovingly created by us from the ruins of an 18th century agricultural courtyard. Each cottage has been renovated using a mixture of traditional and environmentally friendly techniques to create architecturally beautiful and unique holiday cottages.
In addition, we have tried to keep the environment as toxin free as possible with the use of plant based paints, lime plasters and mortars, working in concert to create peaceful, warm, comfortable green holiday cottages in harmony with the environment. All the water comes from our own borehole and is regularly tested, it requires no treatment and is possibly the purest water in Pembrokeshire. Most of all, we hope we have created a place where you can enjoy a green holiday with all comforts and considerations.
Pembrokeshire is a popular tourist attraction and has much to satisfy a diverse range of tastes. There is far too much to list everything to do in the local area, but loads of information can be found at the Pembrokeshire Tourist Information Centres. Below are a few of our favourite things.
The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.
One of the most spectacular coastal walks in the country and one of the most dramatic sections is all but a 30-minute walk from the cottage.
Wild flower and Bird Watching
With its national park and conservation areas, coastlines, offshore islands (teeming with puffins, razorbills, shearwaters, storm petrels and chough) and the Pembrokeshire hedges the area is a popular destination for nature lovers. Foxgloves, pink campion, snowdrops, woodland carpets of bluebells, gorses and heathers are to name but a few of the many flowers. These are also the hunting grounds for the buzzards and peregrine falcons that inhabit the area.
Seal Watching
September and October are the best months to see the...

Sunset Barn is a spacious green holiday cottage boasting sea views and great sun sets. Sunset Barn has two bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms. The downstairs bedroom of the holiday cottage has two large comfortable single beds with an en suite wet room, it is possible to add an extra bed in this room if required (please let us know at the time of booking). The upstairs bedroom of Sunset Barn contains a king-size bed and has an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower. Sunset Barn has an open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining room containing a large comfortable sofa and easy chairs, a log burning stove, a family sized dining table and a fully equipped hand made wooden kitchen with built-in dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a flat screen TV, DVD player and stereo system.
All the bed linen and towels for the holiday cottage are fair trade and organic. The price also includes a basket of logs, gas and electricity. The cottage has underfloor heating downstairs, and a radiator in the upstairs bedroom. The cottage is heated using an air source heat pump. The hot water in the holiday cottage is heated using solar thermal energy and the crystal clear water in the holiday cottage is pumped from our own borehole. We have used as many natural products in the renovation and decoration of Sunset Barn as we could, natural wood, slate tiles, lime plasters, clay paints all add to the special feel of this eco holiday cottage.
We allow up to two dogs in the cottage as long as they are well-behaved, they have their own beds and bowls, they do not go upstairs, and they stay off the furniture. Likewise, we ask that you do not leave them on their own in the cottages. There are a number of fields around Llandruidion where they can run without leads. Please check with us which fields when you get here.
Please note that the upstairs bedroom in Sunset Cottage is reached by a steep alternate tread staircase, which may not be suitable for some people.

Sunset Cottage is one of three holiday cottages set around a shared courtyard. Located on Strumble Head in North Pembrokeshire with views of the sea, St. David's Head, and Garn Fawr. Footpaths lead from the cottages across the open fields and through the flower meadows that form part of the organic smallholding. Beaches and the coastal path are all within easy reach. We are very rural, the nearest towns are Fishguard and Goodwick which are 3-4 miles from us.
