Wind down lush lanes to Swn Y Mor perched on the edge of the spectacular and undiscovered sandy Trefadog beach, this place is an enviable spot to be. With a path that drops down to pebbles from the garden, it is idyllic. Play cricket in the garden to the soundtrack of curlews and crashing waves… Go barefoot all week and bask on the patio overlooking the lawn, where the sun shines from late morning until the invariably spectacular sunset – you’re so close to the water you can leave your towel here and run in for a swim. Light up the barbecue and enjoy a beer and stargaze …

Neighbourhood information

Come in winter for empty beaches and walk along the coves and coastal path to Church Bay for your reward – a cream scone at the Wave crest café (April to October) or dine on seafood at The Lobster Pot. The Church Bay Inn hosts a warm welcome and wide views of Holyhead Bay. In the other direction is Porth Tywyn Mawr (Sandy beach) and lives up to its name. If you fancy a change of beach then Cemaes Bay is not far – a classic seaside village with Y Gloch and fish and chips. Or venture to Trearddur Bay for The Sea Shanty ice cream well worth the drive. Or stay and linger on the beach feeling very privileged.
