I absolutely loved the farm and its surroundings. As I went alone to have a relaxing weekend, I felt completely safe there and it was absolutely peaceful. Jude was also an exceptional host: She greeted me and replied to any messages very quickly,...

The property is based on a working farm, set in the lovely countryside of Exmoor, plenty of things to see and do with the added bonus of having such great hosts, lots of privacy and amenities I loved my time at The Dainty Den.

This was the sweetest little hideaway. Clean and comfortable, really felt like a home away from home. Was lovely to hear the animals in the morning also! Judy and Henry were just the most pleasant hosts, I cannot express that enough.

We knew it would be small, and it was. But it had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. We love the quiet. Friendly host on a farm at the edge of Exmoor.

Once we realised there was the additional kitchen/dining area we were very happy with the accommodation. The host was lovely, and we had a great stay.

Company information

We live in a beautiful area on a working sheep farm and have many other animals including donkeys, horses, dogs, chickens, cat and a pet pig called Sam. All of these do, of course, make noises. There are other guests milling around and it is a good feeling to share what we have in such idyllic surroundings, when so many find it hard to find 'quiet' in their lives, let alone dark skies where they can try to work out the star constellations and sit around the camp fire chatting to like minded people.

Property information

The Dainty Den is exactly what it says dainty (tiny), a king size bed with walls and a roof, ideal for those who no longer wish to camp but wish to stay on a working farm close to the camp site but in a comfortable bed, made up with white linen with tea and coffee making facilities in the room and one small chair, bedside table and lamp. Ideal for those on cycle trips who need a good night's sleep and who have a small quantity of luggage. The Dainty Den is, as can be seen from the photographs not big enough for two people to walk around in but is comfortable for two to sleep. The shower room and toilet is right next door and is shared with the other campers on site, who are about 100 metres from The Dainty Den. Occupants of the Dainty Den are welcome to use the rest/info room that also has a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and freezer, again with tea and coffee making facilities and added crockery and cutlery. It is by no means a fully fledged kitchen. There are many local eateries, serving sumptuous lunches and dinners ranging between 3 and 10 miles from The Dainty Den. The farm offers alternative accommodation: Bed and Breakfast, a Holiday Home and Camping.

Neighbourhood information

The farm is about one mile from open moorland and wooded walks are nearby and many short walks around the site with amazing views from Exmoor National Park all the way down to Dartmoor National Park. Our beautiful sandy surfing beaches are approximately 25 miles distant and the drive across Exmoor to reach many sought after destinations is an amazing experience not to be missed.
