Cosy eclectic character property full of art, very much home from home in the centre of a lovely village with it's own reservoir. Originally an old grain store, converted in 1912. A kitchen with all the utensils you could want and a wealth of spices to help yourself to. A place to cook as you would when staying with family. There is a spacious dining area you can use and when the weather allows, the garden too. This is very much a home from home place to stay. We have two local pubs you can walk to, a local village cafe, a wonderful local bakery, a village shop which stocks essentials right across the road, a hairdresser, a Chinese takeaway. 8 minutes by car to Haywards Heath and the station which has trains every 10 minutes to London. Lots of wonderful places to visit - whether you want to sail on the reservoir, tour the vineyards, head to London or Brighton. Ardingly College is in the village and The South of England Show Ground is a few minutes walk away. Wakehurst place is 2 minutes by car or a 15 minute walk. If you are flying in - we are close to Gatwick - 20 minutes by car or you can hop on a train in the airport to Haywards Heath and then jump in a cab. We welcome those looking for a longer stay and a home from home while working locally, studying or whatever it might be.
We are lovers or all things creative and the arts. We have been hosting for over 10 years and really enjoy meeting all the very different and fascinating people who stay with us. One of us works in user centred problem solving and research and the other in education.
We love to travel and have had a big family (5 children) who have all left home now. We enjoy hosting and love meeting all the new people that stay with us. Some of our guests have stayed over 6 months and one came for 3 weeks and was with us over a year.
We will always give you your privacy but happy to chat and share advice any time.
