The Lodge is nestled in a quiet corner in the former mining village of Polgooth and has outstanding views across the valley. This stunning property is finished to an excellent standard and has all the comforts you will need for a relaxing break, deep in the Cornish countryside, but close to many local attractions and the coast. The property boasts open plan living accommodation with south facing conservatory. It has excellent facilities including fully fitted kitchen with integrated appliances including dishwasher and washing machine with granite work surfaces. The comfortable lounge area includes electric leather reclining sofa and separate ‘easy boy’ chair with the dining table set in the conservatory. There is a 40” smart TV with Netflix and all other players available. The bedroom has a luxurious super king sized, zip and link bed which can be transformed to two single beds if required. There is a smart large screen TV in the bedroom and we supply bath robes and slippers. The fully tiled shower room has been beautifully finished with an extra large walk in rainfall shower and large chrome towel rail. Throughout the whole of the accommodation there is a piped Bluetooth system to all rooms including the shower room allowing for connection with any smart device. There are two separate areas for outside dining and seating including a private patio and a raised area with bench with outstanding views across the valley and into the countryside.
Pete and I moved to Cornwall to get away from it all and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this stunning county. Following the renovation of The Lodge, which we opened in March 2018, we have welcomed many guests from all around the UK and many from as far away as Australia. Cornwall is a beautiful county where guests will take home many happy memories of their stay. The Lodge is really peaceful with stunning countryside views and is close to many local attractions including The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project, plus there are numerous stunning beaches and harbours close by.
The village of Polgooth, a former mining village, is within easy walking distance and is located approximately three miles from Mevagissey. Here you will find the village shop/Post Office offering a great selection of locally sourced groceries including freshly baked bread and pasties, chilled food, fruit and veg and newspapers. The Polgooth Inn is a great old Cornish pub, which serves home cooked food and local ales. During the summer months there is live music on Sunday nights and during the winter you can enjoy a drink around the open coal fires. Many beaches are only a short drive away including Porthpean, a lovely sandy beach where you can take the coastal path to the historic Georgian port of Charlestown, a popular venue for TV filming, including the most recent, Poldark. Here you can tour the shipwreck museum, see the rigger ships and enjoy the cafes, shops and bars. Pentewan Sands, another large sandy beach, is also close by and here you can walk or cycle the off road trail which leads to the beach or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. The Roseland Peninsula is an area of outstanding natural beauty and has many secret coves, hidden beaches and secluded fishing harbours.
