Other Things to Note.
The Nook and Cranny is next to our other charming barn conversion, ‘The Milking Parlour’ which sleeps four/five and so by booking them both out together we can accommodate up-to ten guests.
We welcome four legged friends, however, it’s important to note that we are next to a working sheep farm and so our furry friends need to be kept under control.
I look forward to welcoming you all to my Berthllwyd Farm.
My lifelong passion for motorcycles and everything motorsport has seen me compete all over the world. As the first Welsh person to complete the world renowned, Paris to Dakar Rally and the first Brit to finish the brutal, Malle Moto, I certainly have some interesting stories to tell.
The beautifully restored Nook and Cranny suits families, city sightseers and activity adventurers.
Set in a rural spot, but close to the A470 and Quakers Yard Train Station, on the South Wales Metro.
Halfway between Cardiff City Centre and Pen y Fan, we are ideally suited for a weekend in the bright lights of Cardiff, or the stunning dark skies of the Beacons.
Locally we are within walking distance to several cosy pubs that serve food, a convenience store and the Taff Trail Cycle Path.

‘Escape and Explore’
The Nook and Cranny - Spacious Barn Conversion on 17th Century Farm. (Sleeps four/five).
Croeso! A warm Welsh welcome awaits you at The Nook & Cranny at Berthlwyd Farm. This spacious barn conversion offers rustic, simplistic charm right in the heart of the South Wales valleys, the ultimate location to escape and explore, whether on foot or on a set of wheels!
Steeped in History:
This charming barn conversion is located in Quakers Yard which is steeped in Welsh history. The farm dates back to the 1600’s and was a safe house for the dissenting Quakers at the time to meet in order to avoid prosecution. Many of those early Quakers went on to set up home in Pennsylvania. You’ll undoubtedly feel a sense of calm at the farm and understand why the Quakers chose this special place to settle. The views are spectacular and is home to an array of bird life; Swallows and Wagtails are a common site during the summer months.
This farm is perfect if you enjoy the outdoors. Come and visit the Welsh Valleys and experience what it has to offer. With places like Bike Park Wales, the Brecon Beacons National Park (Bannau Brycheiniog) waterfall country, ‘Pen y Fan’ the highest peak in South Wales and even Wales’ capital city, Cardiff on our doorstep, there is plenty to do. The farm is surrounded by endless countryside. The local country pubs serving good, hearty meals are a short walk away. The local grocery shop and fuel station are but a three minute drive.
