Hello, the Great Escape is a family-run Bed and Breakfast 2 miles outside of Rye. Our accommodation comprises of 10 chalets, each with their own separate entrance. All our rooms have heating, tea and coffee making facilities, T.V.s and en suite shower rooms. We have large gardens, a picnic area and ample parking. We only serve breakfast here - there is no bar or restaurant - but there is a plethora of eating places in nearby Rye (a 5 minute drive) and one pub within walking distance.

Hi, my name is Carmen and I look forward to welcoming guests to the Great Escape. I have run the B & B since 2015 and continually strive to make improvements so you can enjoy your stay. I enjoy cycling, for which the area is great - hills that are not for the faint-hearted, and lots of flat on the nearby marsh. I also play guitar so you may witness the odd rehearsal!

We are very rural and public transport is scarce so it is best to have a car here. We are only 4 miles away from Camber Sands and 5 miles from Winchelsea Beach and there are lots of places around for wooded walks if you prefer to be inland. We do not have a bar or restaurant here, but there are many in Rye (not walkable) just 2 miles away. There is also a pub which serves food just a 5 minute walk up the road in Peasmarsh. The historic Hastings Old Town is about half an hour away by car - there is always something going on there - and Bodiam Castle and Battle are not too far away.
