Fabulous, cosy and really well equipped. A beautiful setting and welcoming host 😊 The added bonus of the gorgeous ponies in the meadow made for a unique break away! Will definitely return for a longer stay.

Lovely secluded location, very peaceful. A cake, fresh milk and tea, coffee and sugar for your arrival were wonderful. Lots of cute and cosy touches in the cabin like extra blankets and hot water bottles but we were never cold as the log burner...

This little apple shed is amazing.. Back to old style living. TV, CD player with 80s music. Middle of a meadow. Is was amazing.. Go with a open mind, and you won't be disappointed. Oh and cake.

Nice and quiet location! As my wife said: it looks like the Hansel and Grettel house. With the elementary luxury - a good couch, a good bed and shower.

The quirky, quaintness of the property and how it is decorated. Bed was comfy, log fire was great and wood well stocked up. Homemade cake was very tasty and a lovely touch.

Peace, quiet, fresh air, lovely host, close to pubs and walks, lovely to get away from It all x extra special touches like carrot cake and loved sitting by the log fire. Perfect for what we wanted for the weekend.

Come glamping in Darling Buds of May country in Kent at our beautiful and comfortable Old Apple Shed situated exclusively in over an acre of meadow. Explore the beautiful Weald of Kent and our quaint village of Bethersden which has a butchers/deli and two traditional country pubs. Both ‘the George’ and ‘The Bull’ do great home cooked food and Kentish Ales and are only a short stroll away. Borrow a dog and explore the woods! There are a host of houses and castles to visit and even a hot air balloon ride. Back to the good old days! The full size double bed is as comfortable as at home, the wood burning stove is warming and the atmosphere is romantic… The Apple Shed was used in the 1960s and 70s to store apples and cherries when this was a working orchard farm and laid unloved for many years. But just look at her now! Converted using reclaimed, recycled and locally sourced materials wherever possible, she is designed to give minimal environmental impact. Well equipped, (yes! a real loo, hot shower and pocket sprung bed!). Well insulated and double glazed so warm and cosy as toast in winter.
Our family loves dogs and we breed border terriers and labradors and there are sometimes puppies here. We are always happy to show you round! Other residents include Toast, the New Forest pony (who may look through your window!) and our two beehives which are tucked away in a quiet corner. We usually have honey for sale.
The rural village of Bethersden is just a 5 minute walk away, across a field and up a country lane. There are two country pubs to choose from - The George and The Bull, both offering traditional pub grub and Kentish Ales. Bethersden has a village shop and artisan butchers. Marchants of Bethersden butchers has a deli of local produce, including fruit and vegetables. You really can get everything you need for during your stay at The Old Apple Shed! Why not wonder into the village and stock up, choose some local meat from the butchers for a BBQ or breakfast! The Old Apple Shed is the perfect base to pick up a local footpath or cycle route, to explore field after field of Kentish woods and countryside. We can even arrange for you to 'borrow a dog' to complete the experience! Please enquire about this upon booking. Further afield from Bethersden village, there's a whole load of things to do in the local area.
