We love to meet people and enjoy welcoming them to our lovely home. As we live next door, we can have as much or as little interaction with you as you choose. We have lived in the village over 20 years so can advise you on a wide range of places to eat, visit and explore whether it be on the Coast, the Dales, the Moors or in the city of York or Harrogate. We can be here on arrival to meet you, or alternatively you can use our key safe facility. If you have any special requirements, please just ask, we can make a Cot and High Chair available. A welcome pack will be left in the kitchen with basic essentials e.g milk, tea , coffee, local free range eggs, bread etc. to get your break started. We also have a fabulous Playing Field just 200m from the property, with all weather Tennis courts (an honesty box is provided for fees) a hard multi use 5 a-side area, a skateboard park and a Children's playground with swings, slide etc. The area has some fabulous Golf courses and Cycling routes if you are looking for a more active few days. We can provide safe storage of golf clubs and bicycles. If you can't book for the dates you want, we have 3 bed Mistletoe Cottage next door as an alternative.

Alne is a pretty, small, picturesque North Yorkshire village with a local pub/restaurant - The Blue Bell (which is doing Takeaway meals) and a Barrow Stall near the church for vegetables, jams, eggs etc. There are a wide range of other fine Pubs and restaurants within a couple of miles. Easingwold, 4 miles away has a lovely Market Place and market on a Friday morning. It has a wide variety of cafes, pubs, shops butcher, baker, a small Coop & two Convenience stores. More locally, Tollerton, just over a mile away, has an Award Winning Village shop & Post Office. There are so many interesting places to visit, both near and far to suit all age groups and people types. We will provide all details on specific places but also information on so many lovely walks, great cycle routes, (we can offer secure bike storage) and local events. Alne is a 20 minute drive south to York depending on the time of day you travel. There is a Park & Ride facility just off the A19 roundabout at Clifton Moor. We are on a bus route to York, Tollerton and Easingwold with buses at all key times of the day. York Railway Station is on the bus route to Alne, alternatively, it is c.13 miles and a taxi far
