The Pavilion is perfect for a quiet romantic getaway. Nestled in the grounds of our c1540 Grade II listed home, The Pavilion has a terrace with sun beds and outside dining facilities to enjoy all day sun during the warmer months and a cosy log burner for romantic nights curled up on the sofa cocooned in a fur (faux) throw during the cooler times of year. Influenced by Jo's love of French furniture, the Pavilion provides a well equipped kitchen, cosy bedroom with door to a small patio area and a spacious lounge/dining area. Although we live on site in the main house, the Pavilion is far enough away, and secluded, to enjoy your own privacy, yet make full use of the gardens, and even have a peep of our home if interested?! On the other hand, we are not too far away if there is anything you need during your stay. We encourage you to make full use of our beautiful gardens, including the tennis court, meet our pet ducks (Marmite, Donald, Christian, Snowman & Snowflake) and Mum's dog Snoopy. Our philosophy is 'our home is your home' and we love it when our guests have a great time and leave feeling relaxed and happy!
We moved to Tenterden, from Dulwich Village, London in January 2013 after we fell in love with the house & garden. Jo’s Mum; Pat and her very chilled out Border Terrier; Snoopy live in Brunger Cottage - just a few meters away from the main house.
Both Simon and Jo worked at King’s College Hospital for over 25 years. Simon as a Consultant Anaesthetist, Clinical Director and then Medical Director and Jo as a Senior Service Manager.
When we moved to Tenterden, Simon continued to work at King’s until February 2018, then moved to our local hospital; The William Harvey so he could spend more time at home, and less time commuting. Pat is retired.
Simon is retiring at the end of February 2020. We spend approx. 6 weeks a year at our Chalet in the French Alps, mainly due to our mutual love of skiing. Simon also enjoys gardening, cycling, reading & DIY. Jo has a passion for cooking, animals & entertaining guests.
We have 5 pet ducks, Marmite the Indian Runner (who has been hand reared and is very tame), Christian (Cross Runner) & Donald (unknown breed), and 2 ducks we have acquired recently from the farm opposite (they heard the food is good at Brunger!)
