The Shippon is located in a rural position on a farm, between Wheddon Cross and Exford, within Exmoor National Park. If you are looking for peace and quiet in the middle of some of the most beautiful countryside in England, then this is the place for you! The farm has 14th century origins and the property has been carefully converted into comfortable holiday accommodation from an original stone outbuilding; the name shippon means 'cow shed'.

Stone steps lead up from the cobbled yard to the front door which take you directly into the open plan kitchen and sitting room. The vaulted ceiling shows off the original beams and give a spacious feel to the property. The large window looks out over the duck pond and across the farmland beyond. The hallway leads away from the other side of the sitting room to the bathroom which has shower over bath, toilet and hand basin, and the two bedrooms. One is a double bedroom with king-sized bed, and the other is a twin bedroom, therefore sleeping a maximum of 4 guests.
The Shippon is adjoined to another holiday property next door, which also sleeps 4 guests. And the owners live in the farmhouse next door.
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum of 2) for 25 GBP each. Please note: you are required to ensure your dog is kept under your control at all times, there are free-range ducks and chickens in the yard.

Ideally located for exploring Exmoor - about 20 minutes from many of the key moorland attractions, including Dunkery, Tarr Steps, Dulverton, Dunster, Wimbleball Lake and the list goes on!
Wheddon Cross (approx 2 miles) has a well-stocked mini-supermarket, Post Office facilities and petrol station with good opening times. The Rest & Be Thankful Inn is the village pub which serves food and is child and dog friendly. Exford is also approx 2 miles (in the other direction), there is a village shop and Post Office and two pubs.
