Edingthorpe is a small, rural village near North Walsham, in north Norfolk, set in lovely countryside. With no pub or village shop, the exceptional unspoilt charm makes Edingthorpe incredibly appealing and peaceful. Enjoy wonderful local walks and nearby Bacton Wood offering orienteering, cycling and horse-riding trails. Edingthorpe is a great stepping stone to discovering the Broads National Park. The Broads, 125 miles of lock-free man-made waterways that wind through stunning Norfolk countryside past pretty towns and villages. The Broads is home to over a quarter of the rarest plants and animals in the UK.
Kayaking, paddle boarding and wild swimming are great on the Dilham Canal by Bacton Wood, the Bure at Coltishall, the Broads or at any of the local beaches. Mundesley, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a pretty Victorian seaside village where families can enjoy a traditional holiday and is only four miles away. For family fun there is crazy golf, a skate park, play areas, a tennis court and even surf school - lessons and equipment hire can be booked at Glide Surf School. The charming village of Mundesley has a parade of independent shops, including a butcher, green grocer, fishmonger, florist, an art and craft shop and a clothes outlet. There are also pubs, The Ship boasts a lovely garden overlooking the sea, numerous cafes, and the streets are lined with very pretty flint buildings and cottages. Mundesley is also home to three churches, as well as a Maritime Museum, which is one of the smallest museums in England. Nine hole Mundesley golf course sits on the hillside of the River Mun valley and offers spectacular views over the coast and countryside.
