The Studio is in the gardens of Rose Cottage it is private, not overlooked and is self-contained in Devon's peaceful countryside surrounded by fields and only a short walk to the River Otter and 2 miles from the seaside at Budleigh Salterton- you can walk to the sea long the river. It is in an AONB with many birds in the Otter Valley.
From the Studio courtyard, you have lovely views of the countryside and we provide sun chairs and a bistro table so you can eat your breakfast outside on lovely sunny mornings or chill out with a bottle of wine in the evenings.
Use of large Hot Tub and the Rose cottage garden with summerhouse and log burner and decking and sun chairs open until 11 pm every night! (subject to availability)
The Studio has a very modern feel and is open plan with a Superking bed which can be made up as 2 singles or a double. Ample heating with 2 radiators.
2 Seater sofa and throws, Flat screen TV, small dining table and 2 chairs, bathroom with shower and toilet and sink and heated towel rail.
Linen and towels are provided and also extra towels for the Hot Tub.
The open plan kitchen has an electric oven and hob, also provided is a Microwave, under-counter fridge with ice-box, toaster, kettle, all your cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, and glasses.
We have lived in Rose Cottage for over 30 years and now our children have their own homes elsewhere, we would like to invite guests to share our beautiful home with us, we live in such a lovely area its a shame not to share it !
The Hosts live in the adjoining cottage and are available if required but will leave you to enjoy your private space.
East Budleigh is the birthplace of Sir Walter Raleigh and is full of chocolate box thatched cottages, we are between East Budleigh and Otterton, both can be reached on foot in 20 minutes or a couple of minutes in the car, and there are pubs in both villages.
Its only 2 miles from the sea, or about 45 minutes walk along the River Otter to the small town of Budleigh Salterton with its long promenade and beach with colourful pebbles.
It is a short drive to the Regency seaside town of Sidmouth with its many cafes and independent shops and in the other direction the seaside town of Exmouth with its long sandy beaches.
Only 12 miles away and pre-dating the arrival of the Romans in AD 50, Exeter’s history is rich and long with its unique Underground Passages, free Red Coat Guided Tours, magnificent Cathedral, imposing Roman wall and beautiful Quayside. Exeter is also home to the award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum where visitors can explore the city’s 2,000-year history under one roof!
The Cottage is 20 minutes walk from the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve which is a 57-acre (230,000 m2) Local area is Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) consisting of tidal mudflats and saltmarsh.
There are 2 pubs within a 20 minutes walk both providing food and drinks.
