Welcome to Tigh-na-Mara (House by the Sea) a small modernised self catering crofter's cottage overlooking Lochinver harbour and the iconic mountains of Assynt beyond.
Set in a beautifully secluded spot, with private car parking and within walking distance of the centre of the fishing village of Lochinver it commands some of the finest views in an area renowned for hill-walking, mountain climbing, brown trout and Salmon fishing. Pets are welcome and although there is no wifi available there is a 4G signal available in the cottage from the lovely sunroom and garden. WiFi is available at the Leisure Centre over at the harbour and at the local restaurants in the village.
I am the proud second generation owner of Tigh-na-Mara self catering cottage in Lochinver which has been my home for over 50 years and live within 500m of the cottage.
Lochinver is a beautiful fishing village in the North West Highlands of Scotland overlooked by the iconic mountains of Quiniag, Canisp and Suilven.. The village is just off the main route of the famous Route 500 scenic drive and has a number of very good restaurants to choose from including the famous Lochinver Larder pie shop. The village also hosts cafes and gift shops. The beautiful beaches of Clachtoll and Achmelvich are within easy driving distance, as are the lovely little villages of Stoer and Drumbeag, and the impressive Kylesku bridge.
If you like the outdoors you will love a stay in Lochinver an ideal centre for exploring the Northwest Highlands.
