Tor Royal Farm house is a Grade II* listed - belonging to the Duchy of Cornwall and is the largest Duchy Farm on Dartmoor. We are a working farm, farming beef cattle, sheep, goats, Native ponies and is home to our Apiary of 10 bee hives
I love Dartmoor and farming on and around it - we are a family farm, farming with our youngest son. I ride horses, keep a mixture of poultry, goats and love working with my bees.
Princetown is home to the famous Dartmoor Prison and is situated in the middle of Dartmoor National Park an area of outstanding natural beauty, with remote and rugged hills and tors, deep valleys and open moorland with semi feral Dartmoor ponies, cattle and sheep running free but belonging to local farme's like ourselves. The village boasts a primary school, two lovely Inns and 3 cafe's providing good food and drink - We are home to the High Moorland Visitor center where you can learn all about Dartmoor. Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle was inspired to write his famous Novel 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' whilst staying and walking from Princetown. There is plenty of towns and villages to visit, many with historic buildings and local markets. Dartmoor is an amazing place to walk and tour guides are available if needed. - There is local horse riding stables where you can book a trek, areas to wild swim and a good night life in the local city of Plymouth.
