Ty Hebog is a cosy, self-catering converted barn with a log burner. The barn is Grade 2 listed and retains the original 17th century wooden beams. Situated only 7 minute drive from the Rhyd Ddu Snowdon path. Located on a secluded working mountain farm, overlooking the famous village of Beddgelert, just a 10 minute walk down through the fields and ancient oak woodland. From the patio enjoy the magnificent views of the Eryri mountains. The perfect location for hikers with walks from the doorstep. The barn features an open plan kitchen and living space, a private bathroom, crog loft bedroom, off-road parking and a patio with stunning views of the mountains. It is a 17th Century listed building which is full of traditional features such as exposed beams with the original wooden pegs. **There are low beams in this property: at the entrance, the steps to the living area and crog loft bedroom. Please mind your head ** Free private parking outside the cottage. There is a path directly down to the village through the fields and woods. Allow 10 minutes to go down, 20 minutes to come back up.
Mum of two running three holiday cottages on Perthi Farm, Beddgelert, North Wales. I don't live at the property (my parents live in the farmhouse) but I only live 15 minutes away so if you need anything during your stay, just give me a call.
This part of Snowdonia is a climbers, walkers and cyclists' paradise with ample footpaths, renowned mountains, forests and lakes all around you. There are plenty of walks available from scenic valley walks alongside rivers, to scrambles up the high peaks of Snowdonia. And of course, Snowdon is on the doorstep, only a 7 minute drive to the Rhyd Ddu path. There are mountain bike routes in Beddgelert Forest (where bike hire is available), and more challenging mountain biking can be found nearby at the Marin Trail near Betws-y-Coed and Plas-y-Brenin near Dolgellau. Alternatively, you can just relax and enjoy the stunning scenery that Snowdonia and the rest of North Wales have to offer – from the lakes and mountains of Snowdonia to the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula and Anglesey. There are sandy beaches just 8 miles from Perthi. There are many tourist attractions to visit including the steam railways of the Welsh Highland Railway (which can be seen from the cottage running along the other side of the valley), Ffestiniog Railway and Snowdon Mountain Railway.
