Westfield House is an extensive Victorian property that was built in 1855 in beautiful surroundings overlooking the Pennine Way. Countryside views are plentiful! Guests will benefit from generous off-road parking and easy access to the surrounding amenities.
The guest rooms offer spacious accommodation that have very recently been refurbished whilst maintaining some of the original Victorian charm.
Both rooms feature a King Size bed with generous wardrobe and storage space along with tea/coffee making facilities in each room. A 32in flat screen TV has also been installed offering Freeview channels with remote control.
The ensuite shower room again offers generous space with a large private shower, wash basin and toilet facilities with fresh towels provided.
For those who are hiking or cycling in the area, we are able to offer secure storage space for bicycles, camping equipment, etc. Please let us know in advance if this is the case.
We do have a guard dog that resides at the property, however access to certain areas of the property such as upstairs is prohibited by the dog. Guests will not come into contact with the dog during their stay. We are not taking booking from guests with animals at this time.
Situated in a serene part of the village, Westfield House experiences increased farming traffic during harvesting seasons, typically at the end of June or beginning of July. However, this activity usually subsides before 11pm.
Westfield House is our home, therefore we usually like to welcome our guests in person. We have lived in the village for a short time in comparison to others, but we absolutely love it here. People are so friendly and with nature on the doorstep its great to feel the fresh air and experience a bit of country life,
There are lots of local walks, public footpaths, bridle ways and cycle ways from the doorstep. If you like to visit local attractions without driving, there is public transport available including regular bus links to Skipton, Settle, Malham and Kirkby Lonsdale. In addition to this, Gargrave railway station is served by rail services to Skipton (8 mins) and Leeds (45 mins) to the east and Morecambe and Carlisle to the west.
For those who would like to explore by car, Gargrave lies on the A65 giving great access to the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. We are situated approx. 30mins away from the famous 'Yorkshire Three Peaks', 20mins away from Bolton Abbey and the market town of Ilkley, and approx. 45mins to Leeds Bradford Airport.
Gargrave boasts a range of amenities for an enjoyable stay, including x3 public houses including the Masons Arms (100yds away who offer homecooked meals and local beers, booking is recommended), the Dalesman Cafe, Bollywood Indian Restaurant (booking is recommended), The Frying Yorkshireman fish & chip restaurant/take-away as well as a co-op store which is ideal for stocking up.
