Set in rolling hills, there is loads to do on your doorstep at Kingfisher Lakes. Plentiful walks wind woodland and fields, and there is a lake where you can hire kayaks. Wildlife watching will just happen without having to seek it out, as birds and other native animals display behaviours you may never have seen so close up before. The vibrant blue and orange kingfishers that give the site its name can be spotted flying fast and low across the water.
Just a 30-minute walk away, the nearest village of Brandesburton is home to some excellent local pubs/restaurants, including the The Dacre Arms, Bert's Pizzeria and Deep Blue fish and chips, as well as a play park, bakery, and petrol station. Waters sports can be enjoyed at the Fosse Hill Jet Ski Centre and Billabong Water Sports. You can also play Bert's Adventure Golf or foot golf at Dacre Lakeside Park.
Kingfisher Lakes is located close to Yorkshire’s famous east coastline. Just a 20-minute drive will take you to the charming coastal village of Skipsea, home to Skipsea Castle and close to Flamborough Head with the oldest living lighthouse in England, built in 1674. The site is also a short drive from the coastal town of Hornsea.
Fraisethorpe Beach, known for its golden sands is a perfect place for a stroll to take in the sea air whilst stopping off at The Cow Shed Tearoom for a spot of lunch.
For horse racing enthusiasts Beverley Racecourse is just 11 miles away and makes for the perfect day out to enjoy with family and friends.
The historic market town of Beverley one of Yorkshire's best kept secrets and features excellent shopping. Head straight to the Minster and soak up some mediaeval charm, followed by lunch in one of the many eateries on offer, including Ceruttis and The Westwood.
Further afield Sea Life Scarborough and Flamingo Land, Malton are all within 30 miles away, making them the ideal destination day out.
