In the small village of Haverthwaite, a mile from the southern end of Lake Windermere, you will find a tranquil hidden gem called The Woodmans Huts. Close to the vintage Steam Railway reminicient of years ago. Woodmans Shepherds Huts are a glamping site set within pretty cottage gardens. A mile from Lake Windermere.
The site is made up of Two Shepherds Huts , and a bespoke Wooden Log Cabin. Please note when booking you reseve your preffered choice. ASH BIRCH or OAK

The nearest town (6 miles) is charming Ulverston, a quaint market town. There are quality supermarkets, with plenty of bespoke and individual shops with its beautiful cobbled streets.
Also the birthplace of Stan Laurel where there is a museum for any of you avid Laurel & Hardy fans.

Cartmel Priory is 10 mins away - A beautuful 12th Century Priory. Cartmel is also famous for Simon Rogan's 3 Star MIchelin restaurant -L'Enclume.
Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding is all but next door so for any Foodies amongst you, you will be in seventh heaven here as we are renowned for our places to eat.
Places to visit are in abundance- Levens Hall - internationally known for its Topiary Trees. Brantwood - home of John Ruskin, Grasmere - Wordworths Home, but also Grasmere Gingerbread.
Hill Top - Beatrix Potters Home in Sawrey.
Grange over Sands - 10 mins away - Edwardian Town with Promenade and award winning Tea Rooms, and winner of The Best Butcher in the Country - Higginsons of Grange.
Ulverston- our lovely little Market Town, with award winning Tea Room - Gillams, ( you may even be lucky enough to meet their amazing daughter Jess, MBE, ) famous Sax Player, who, when home from travelling the world, will entertain you in her Dads Tea Room.
The Motor Museum is less than 5 mins away, a must for any Petrol Heads !
The Windermere Steam Boat Musuem is Bowness, a 15 min drive away.
Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway is within easy walking distance meaning you can leave your car and get from our huts to Ambleside (via Bowness) on foot/train/steamer!
Go Ape is in Grizedale Forest which is a 20 min drive up the beautiful Rusland Valley.
Fell Foot Park, is only a short 8 mins drive from us, that is the Southern end of Lake Windermere and is a large National Trust Park with access to the Lake for everyone, so a great place to spend a sunny day with the children having a picnic and a paddle. Its a beautiful place to visit to include a fantastic and easily accessible walk called Gummers How, you will have to travel a long way to get a view like it, with a 360 view over Morecambe Bay, The Howgills, Coniston Old Man and Langdales, with virtually the full length of Lake Windermere below you will feel verry blessed having made the effort.

Walks and Lakes in abundance- Scarfell PIke, Helvelyn, Great Gable, Fairfield Horseshoe and Coniston Old Man to name but a few beautiful walks to bag. WIld Swimming in our little Tarn close by - High Dam plus all the amazing Lakes await you for a refreshing dip. Visit Wasdale, ine of our favourite places, deep and mysterious sitting under Scarfell Pike, the largest mountain in England and the deepest Lake, a truly majestic place, with a brilliant pub at the head of the valley!
The Lyle Ratty Railway leaves Ravengalss on a narrow guage twisting through the gorgeous little valley up to Eskdale, a great day out for the children.
We are a World Heritage Site in the Wonderful Lake District National Park, our accomodation is different, slightly quirky and very comfortable.We manage and clean them ourselves so we know every care and attention has been given to every changeover. We love antique fairs, so you will find things change regularly according to my latest find!
