Hello from Claire and Michael!
We are thrilled to welcome you to Woody's Retreat - which we named for the woodpecker we see at our bird-feeder! We have lived at Rodhill Barn for nearly forty years, raised four children and now have great fun as grandparents. Michael works on the family farm, while Claire is busy taking care of the Shepherd's Hut as well as a holiday cottage in Clitheroe. When we're not at work, we are avid members of the local drama group, having put on many a play and pantomime over the years. Our commitment is to make your stay as comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable as possible, and we are always happy to answer any questions or give recommendations for things to do in the area.
Thank you for considering Woody's Retreat, we're sure you'll enjoy your stay!
Woody's Retreat is roughly half-way between the charming villages of Bolton-by-Bowland and Sawley, both of which boast excellent pub/restaurants as well as access to some of the finest walking paths in the Ribble Valley. Just a short drive away is the historic market town of Clitheroe, which features a medieval castle, museum, shops and restaurants a plenty, and much more.
The local area features something for everyone, from mountain biking at Gisburn Forest, to Holmes Mill - which features one of the longest bars in Europe and an excellent selection of local ales.
