Wychwood House was built by a local family who owned department stores throughout the county of Pembrokeshire. It was built with the highest quality materials available at the time Many archictual styles are incorporated in it's design including touches of Art Decor. The house is situated half way along Tenby's South Beach set half a mile back, just before Penally Village. Tenby centre is 1 mile by public footpath. Penally has 4 eateries within 5-10 minutes walk from Wychwood. The village of Penally is older than Tenby with its own railway station and regular bus service passing the house. A thirteenth century church, a village shop and all the other amenites sadly lost in most villages are present in Penally. Wychwood is set in its own grounds with ample free parking on site, and is surrounded by lawns and mature trees and shrubs. Guests are welcome to relax in the large and well kept garden.
I took early retirement from National Power 24 years ago after a successful career as a Power Station control room operator culminating in a secondment to Kuwait to restore power to the country immediatly after the first Gulf War, where I met my to be wife Mherly, who together with myself have sucessfully ran Wychwood as a high quality b&b. We are keen Latin Dancers, and I am a long distance and Marathon runner, and would be happy to discuss local routes and maybe accompany guests on a run! I am a keen skier, scuba diver, and also play tennis. Cooking and Reading and foreign Travel are also great passions.
Penally Village is a quiet 13 centuary village situated close to the end of Tenby's South Beach. Penally has pubs, restaurants,Hotels, village hall, shops a school and also a sandy beach. Across a small stretch of water is the Monastic Island of Caldy which may be visited by boat from Tenby. There is access to the famous Pembrokeshire cost path which continues all the way past St. Davids which is also renowned for being the smallest city in the world.
