Set amidst glorious rolling countryside our Anglesey 'Home from Home' at STORWS is your great escape- the perfect location for just chilling out in- or for exploring unspoilt beaches, villages and historical towns. Once a Victorian granary, our sympathetically converted home 'STORWS' has a more gentile but still carefree atmosphere. The 'Berllan' two floor suite has it's own private entrance into the downstairs snug, which has a large comfortable sofa to relax on or watch TV .There are facilities to make comforting hot drinks, and a small fridge to keep milk fresh and water cold- essential if you bring your own G&T or wine! Up stairs has a cosy double bed and a very large ensuite with a walk in luxury shower, and complementary Anglesey naturally made toiletries and fluffy towels. Y Gorlan Shepherd's Hut is a bespoke, romantic and magical bolthole to escape to. Overlooking the river Alaw and open farmland it is an ideal venue to relax among countryside scenes and views. Skilfully constructed following a 19 century design, it incorporates traditional features as well as the comforts of the 21 century. Full Welsh breakfast is served in our large diner in the comfy farmhouse.
We are both retired school teachers who enjoy sharing our country home and gardens as well as our luxury glamping experience in our shepherd's hut. After having enjoyed a Shepherd's Hut experience in Mid Wales, my husband and I fell in love with the concept, and hence we decided to go for it. By providing two properties, couples can enjoy a romantic break on their own, or join with friends or family. Why not BBQ on the river bank, enjoy a glass of bubbly on the jetty or toast marshmallows on the fire pit together, down in the garden. A perfect end to the day. We are both foodies and enjoy cooking very much. We have a large library of cookery books for guests to browse through in Y Berllan. Providing a delicious Welsh, locally sourced breakfast is our pride and pleasure, as well as producing home baked shortbread for you to enjoy in your complementary welcome basket. We can also provide afternoon tea on the balcony or a platter of home baked focaccia, cheese and chutneys under the stars for your special celebration.(prices on request) All BBQ facilities are in the 'Old Dairy, for your use. We both strive to make your stay comfortable, pleasurable & memorable.
There is something for everyone on Anglesey and our properties make the perfect base from which to start out from (after a hearty breakfast) to enjoy the Island's many and varied treasures. From ancient historical and geological sites, to the quaint villages and coastal towns with wonderful beaches, as well as walking part of the coastal path and it's memorable views- there is certainly something for everyone. Our location is ideal for all manner of outdoor activities; fishing, walking, horse riding, surfing ,bird watching , golfing, track racing, go-karting and rib riding. The Tunnicliffe and Kyffin Art Gallery, , Beaumaris Castle & Prison ,Llynnon Mill and Celtic Roundhouses offer you insights into the Island's artistic and historic heritage. Holyhead- 15 min. away -a busy port town provides a gateway to Ireland, as well as the Anglesey Airport that travels to Wales' capital city- Cardiff. If you want to experience something different but very SPECIAL, then Y Gorlan Shepherd's Hut and Y Berllan Suite is for you.
