Afiki was built in 2005 by Apostle Stephen Kofi Baidoo. Stephen, who sadly passed away in 2019, was from the village of Ankwanda. It was our need to maintain our building which kickstarted our Afiki journey in 2018. We are a boutique resort with 9 rooms, a swimming pool, golden sand beach, swimmable sea and a rooftop sea view restaurant. Our size gives us the ability to provide you with the best of Ghanaian hospitality with a personal touch that makes you feel that you are visiting an old friend. Our location, a remote and mostly quiet fishing village, lends itself to an authentic Ghanaian village experience. Join our guided walks through the Ankwanda village, meet its people and see how they live first hand. Our wooden curtain poles and grass mats are all examples of how we use what is around us, as our ancestors did, to give you an authentic African experience. We look forward to welcoming you.

We like to think that our village is unique. Its people are easy going, peaceful and welcoming. We are blessed with the beauty of the sea, sand, coconut trees and, oft, blue skies. Sometimes, sea turtles come to visit us and lay their eggs. The local fishermen fix their nets and head out to sea. We play on the golden sands and swim in the sea. Usually, the last weekend in November, February, May and August, our small fishing village comes to life with funerals, which seem more like parties! If you are coming to us for the peace and quiet, please do contact us for confirmation that there is no funeral - the parties can get loud!
