Stavros , is literally a 10 minute stroll where you will find some good tavernas and cantinas. The mini markets sell fresh bread, milk, fruit and vegetables as well as other basic food requirements. A larger supermarket is also situated a couple of kilometers away in village of Chorafakia, in which you will find more tavernas ,served home cooking tradinional cretan food . There are six buses run daily from Stavros to Chania that pass through the larger village of Kounoupidiana . Taxis also can be called at any time. You can also visit the graves of Venizelos, the two major political and prime ministers of Greece, located on the hill of Prophet Elias, in a beautifully designed space environment with panoramic views towards the city of Chania and the region. The following attractions are in the same direction, so if you wish, you can combine them into a walk. By car you will reach the monastery of Agia Triada Tzagarolon and from there you will continue to Gouverneto Monastery, where the road ends. Then you walk downhill to the paved path to the cave of Panagia Arkoudiotissa followed by derelict Catholic.
