Charming Grandparents’ Cottage in the Heart of Rural Greece
Welcome to our beloved family cottage, passed down from our grandparents, nestled in the peaceful horio (village) of Katsarós. This traditional home offers an authentic taste of Greek rural life—simple, slow, and full of natural beauty.
The cottage is old, full of charm and character, perfect for those who appreciate a quieter pace of life and want to experience the essence of horio living. Mornings here begin with the sound of birds, the occasional call of a local kokorás (rooster), and friendly neighborhood dogs in the distance.
Inside, you’ll find:
Two cozy bedrooms: one with a king-size bed and garden view, and another with a double bed and a French door opening to the balcony with valley and mountain view.
A fully equipped kitchen with all the essentials for home-cooked meals.
Air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, a washing machine, and a private entrance for comfort and convenience.
The home is surrounded by a perimeter-covered terrace, ideal for relaxing with a book or enjoying a glass of wine. On the back side of the house, you’ll find a large terrace shaded by sultanina grapes, offering uninterrupted views of the valley and the Fragkapidima mountain range.
Don’t be surprised if a local cat family pays you a visit—they’re regular guests and guardians of the house. Feel free to share a little food with them—they’ll appreciate your kindness and repay it with quiet company.
Beaches are just a short drive away, and the nearby locals are known for their warmth and friendliness. Whether you're seeking peaceful rest, romantic seclusion, or a taste of authentic Greek horio life, our grandparents’ cottage is the perfect escape.
Hi! I’m Anastasios, your host. Although I don’t currently live in Greece, this home and village are very close to my heart. I was born and raised in Athens, but I spent every summer, Christmas and Easter of my childhood right here in Katsarós — picking grapes (trygos), gathering olives for the tastiest olive oil I know :), playing in the fields, and soaking in the peaceful rhythms of horio life.
Years later, my family and I returned and lived here for six wonderful years. We renovated this old family cottage with love, keeping its traditional character while adding comforts for a relaxed stay. I’m an architectural designer by profession, and in my free time, I enjoy fishing and sports — especially when I'm near the sea or surrounded by nature like here.
I love hosting because it allows me to share a place that means so much to me. Whether you’re here to unwind, explore, or reconnect with simpler living, I truly hope you feel at home — and fall in love with this peaceful corner of Greece, just as I did.
Guests love the peaceful, authentic atmosphere of Katsarós, a quiet horio (village) where life moves slowly and traditions still thrive. Surrounded by olive trees, gardens, and mountains, it’s the perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature and simplicity.
