There is a local village 1 kilometer away, where you can meet and study the native people of the island. There is available mini market and tavern in the village .8 kilometers away lies the beautifull beach of Karteros,the capital city of Heraklion lies only 12 kilometers away if you like to enjoy shopping and night life. Not far from the residence there are 2 Bisantine churches and also a very old venetsian stone bridge which is still in use after many centuries.Very beautifull is also the Karteros George for those who like the outdoor adventure. Museum of Nikos Kazantzakis author who wrote the famous Zorbas the Greek is just 8 minutes away from the house.There are also many different winneries around to be visited with nearest the Boutari Winery is just 5 kilometers away.If you just need to relax by the pool and be away from the noise and the city traffic then you are on the right place.

Aitania is a small village with resturant and mini market, just 10 km from the Heraklion airport and 8 km from Karteros Beach. 3 km from the villa there is a bigger town called Episkopi where you can find bigger shop and restaurants with tasty fresh food. just 3 km away, (Kalikaki & Mourelo tavernans)and you will find ATMs, pastry shops, modern cafes.There are many attractions to see around: Bisantine churches, monastery, gorges and archeological places which are only few kilometeres far.
