The traditional Hellenick house is located in the village of Kanevos, just before the beautiful, imposing gorge of Kotsifos, surrounded by mountains and green landscape. The property is the ground floor of a traditional duplex of Minoan architecture and offers all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. It has 3 spacious bedrooms (2 have 2 single beds and the 3rd has a double bed and living room), large kitchen, a bathroom and outdoor parking for 2 cars. It has a large terrace and a beautiful garden all around. In addition, it offers free WiFi in all indoor and outdoor areas. It is ideal for families and groups who want to calm down and live in the relaxed rhythms of the village but at the same time be within walking distance of beaches, villages, taverns, attractions and nightlife. Due to the location and altitude of the area, the house is naturally cool all summer and does not need air conditioning. You will need a car for your transportations. In our village you will find mini market, tavern, cafe and a small playground. The tourist resort of Plakias is 7 km (approx. 12 min. by car), where you can find banks, pharmacies, shops, taverns, restaurants, cafes and bars.

Hello, I am Eleni and I will be your hostess if you choose to spend your vacation at our house. I was born in Athens but I have spent all my summers in Kanevos since the house you see was our holiday home for many years. I have been living in Crete since the age of 7. I am currently dividing my time between Syros where I am studying industrial design at the Polytechnic School of the University of the Aegean, Athens and of course Crete. I speak English and until 2 years ago, in the summers, I worked in hotel complexes and businesses in the area. I love Cretan cuisine, local products and the traditional music of my place. I like sports and hiking in the gorges. My favourite moment of the summer is when I go down to the Kourtaliotiko gorge and swim in the icy waters of the waterfall and the pedestals of the river. I'm discreet and I totally respect your time but be sure that I am at your disposal for anything you need - from suggesting beaches, taverns, excursions, to resolving any issues that may arise during your vacations.

Our guests tell us that we have a lot of dew. The temperature in our "mountainous" neighborhood is about 9 degrees Celsius lower than the temperature of sea level. Our village is next to a national park and is a good starting point for many activities such as: - Excellent excursions by car. - Countless hiking trails with varying degrees of difficulty. - Climbing - Mountain bike and Enduro (dirt bikes) - Bird watching At a distance of a few kilometers you can visit beautiful large and small beaches. The most famous are Plakias, Damnoni, Ammoudi, Souda, Preveli, Schoinaria. There you can engage in activities such as: - Sea sports - Swimming - Horseback riding - Snorkelling on the very interesting coastline of the Libyan Sea - Scuba diving - Rock Climbing The countless churches and monasteries, the festivals and the customs like the raki cauldrons every October-November have an important role in the tradition of our region. The whole of Crete is a gastronomic paradise with organic local products. Oil, honey, cheeses, cold cuts, herbs and spices, and of course raki have the stamp of a special Cretan taste. Enjoy them in restaurants, taverns, cafes, cantcanteens, even on the beach!
