Atsipades village is a small yet picturesque village very close to Plakiaa that is set towards the centre of a large bay enclosed within the arms of mountains. Plakias is a popular tourist resort, located 34 Kms south of Rethymno city, at the exit of a fertile valley surrounded by high mountains and dense olive groves. Plakias is surrounded by mountains to the north and the Libyan Sea to the south. Originally a very small and quiet fishing village, it now offers a range of amenities. Plakias is renowned for it’s natural beauty, providing all the facilities that a visitor could wish for.
