I live in the Netherlands, but my parents have been living in Sykia since 2002 and will warmly welcome you. I’ve been visiting this village ever since and bought the house in 2007. Now that the renovation is complete, I’m thrilled to share my love for this beautiful part of Greece, which holds a special place in my heart.
Though I won’t be there, my parents will be your hosts. Originally from the Netherlands, they’ve embraced Greek life and speak Greek, English, and German. If needed, feel free to contact me anytime—I’m committed to ensuring your stay is as enjoyable as possible.
Discover the Charm of Sykia, Chalkidiki
Sykia, located on the southeastern tip of the Sithonia peninsula in Chalkidiki, is one of the oldest and largest villages in the region. The village has preserved its traditional charm, with narrow streets and picturesque old houses reflecting monastic architecture. The name “Sykia,” meaning “fig tree” in Greek, highlights the village’s deep roots in Greek culture.
Just 3 kilometers from the village lies the stunning Sykia Beach, an expansive 2-kilometer stretch of golden sand and crystal-clear waters. The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag for its cleanliness and is perfect for families and nature lovers. Along the coastline, you’ll also find smaller, idyllic bays such as Linaraki, Klimataria, and Valti, each offering its own unique beauty.
The surrounding area of Sykia offers breathtaking views of Mount Athos and spectacular sunrises, making it a paradise for photographers and nature enthusiasts. The village itself has all the essential amenities, including a clinic, supermarkets, and local shops to ensure a comfortable stay.
Whether you want to relax on pristine beaches, explore the rich history and architecture of the village, or indulge in traditional Greek cuisine at local tavernas, Sykia provides an authentic Greek experience you’ll never forget.
