Hello,
This is Artemis Diana, owner of this place, which is the birthplace of my father and his ancestors.
I spent my first five years here, along with my grandparents, and then all my summers and holidays.
Too many memories, therefore — and I admit that I am in love with this village (Historic Milies) and the Pelion mountain in general!
I hope you’ll also discover the magic of our village (all seasons are wonderful here) and create some beautiful memories with your loved ones and friends.
Enjoy!
~ As a host, I deeply value respect, privacy, and the warmth of true hospitality. I’ve put care into preserving the soul of the house — from family heirlooms to traditional details — while also making it as comfortable and welcoming as possible for guests from all over the world.
Even when I’m away from Milies for personal matters, I’m always happy to help and just a message away.
I can also provide tips about the area, local walks, food, cultural sites, or practical matters like transport.
Whether you're seeking rest, inspiration, or a taste of real village life, I hope you’ll find something meaningful during your stay at #PerkyRosesHome.
You are most welcome, and I’ll do my best to make sure your experience here is smooth, heartfelt, and memorable.

🌿 The Neighborhood
Mount Pelion in general:
Pelion stands out among Greece’s mountains. Although not especially high(its tallest peak, Pourianos Stavros, is 1,624 m), its unique location brings heavy snowfall in winter, feeding abundant springs and lush vegetation. That’s why it remains the most densely inhabited mountain in Greece — and one of the greenest, just as it was in antiquity, as mentioned by Homer and Hesiod.
Pelion’s rare beauty lies in its closeness to both mountain and sea: nestled between the Aegean and the Pagasitic Gulf, it offers a rare blend of alpine forests and coastal charm. In few places can you hike from a ski center (at Chania village) down to a beach within four hours. The region is rich in mythology, nature, traditional stone villages, monasteries, cobblestone paths, old fountains, and arched bridges.
With both summer and winter infrastructure, and the vibrant coastal city of Volos nearby (26 km away), Pelion is a paradise for nature lovers, hikers, swimmers, history fans, and seekers of authentic experiences.
Milies village in particular, is one of the most historic and charming villages in Pelion. Don’t miss a ride on the legendary traditional train of Pelion, a rare experience. Visit the old railway station and museum, the outstanding church of Taxiarxes at the main square, the local folklore museum, and the historic library “Psichis Akos,”.
Horseback riding is available in and around the village, and there are many local hiking trails and cultural activities to enjoy.
Just steps from the house, you’ll find Korbas Bakery — a beloved village spot known for fresh bread, delicious olive bread(liopsomo), traditional pies like spanakopita(greens) and tyropita(cheese), as well as sweets and basic goods. It’s ideal for a warm breakfast before your adventures.
And for even more to explore, the lively city and port of Volos are just a 30-minute drive away. Please ask for tips or simply do a quick search, there’s something for everyone.
