200years old cycladic stone house, restored to its original iconic architecture, with stunning terraces and 3 bedrooms on 3 floors with 3 en-suite bathrooms. At the center of Naxos island, on the top of Filoti village hill, under mount Zeus, overlooking the beautiful village, the olive tree valley and the breathtaking sunset over the sea horizon. Unique advantage: the house's serene location on one hand, and the vivid village plaza on the other, with colorful cafes and taverns at walking distance.
Expect a location with calmness and privacy, and an authentic Cycladic neighborhood leading down the stairs to a vivid village, with white houses and friendly people, narrow streets, an impressive orthodox church and a plaza with traditional coffee shops, local product stores and delicious taverns.
Renting a car to easily access the house location is strongly recommended. The house resides at the top of the left hill of the village. After driving a rather bumpy dirt road (which you ll get used to very easily), a small free parking area is available just a few meters away: about 30 steps between the parking lot and the house. A second much easier and much shorter cement road is also available a few minutes walk from the house. Although it's just a 5-minute walk down the stairs to the main plaza, most people will prefer to take the dirt road by car for their everyday transport to the beaches and the other neighboring villages.
Naxos town/port and the amazing beaches are about 30 minutes away by car or public bus. A reliable bus service is connecting the village to the beaches and town.
Located at the center of the island, the house will serve as a great jump-off point for sightseeing and visiting the rest of the island in any direction.
For those who like to walk, they will find a lot of marked walking paths leading to the mountains, byzantine churches and the neighboring villages passing through Filoti village.
I am very glad to be part of the hosting community. Although currently living in Athens, I have spent almost every summer of my childhood in Naxos, so I can give you useful advice on which beach, village, restaurant or bar to visit during your stay. I probably couldn't live without the Aegean Sea, the Greek sun and the unspoiled beaches. When not working, I love travelling to the Greek islands and photographing their people and landscapes.
A lovely and vivid village with narrow whitewashed alleys, and adorable people always happy to help.
