It is built in a fertile valley, through which the Sarakiniotikos River flows, with the main products being olive oil, chestnuts, almonds, citrus fruits and livestock products. In Sarakina is the single-aisled church of Michael the Archangel. Inside it are preserved frescoes from the 14th century. Also in Sarakina is the one-room vaulted church of Agios Ioannis. The temple was also frescoed, but today only the frescoes on the eastern wall are preserved. An inscription is also preserved, which places the construction of the temple in 6851 from the construction of Kosmos, which corresponds to the year 1346.
