The history of Castello Hotels is a story of inspiration, dedication and hard work by the chairman of the company, Mr. Charis Kasmirlis. The word “Castello” which inspired Mr. Kasmirlis is Italian and it means Castle. Along with the fortifications that were built around the city of Heraklion during the Venetian occupation of the island of Crete, the famous castle Rocca a Mare was built at the towns old harbour. The castle which is known today by the name “Koules” was also called “Castel di Candia” which meant the Castle of Candia since Heraklion was called “Candia” at the time. Castello Hotels also manages currently 3 hotels - 1 in the city of Heraklion and 2 in Sissi seaside village, in Eastern Crete.

Decorated with local ornamental plants and a beautiful lemon tree that stands tall in the middle of the area which is surrounded by stunning 18th century stone masonry. Enjoy a tasty homemade breakfast in the morning with your family or friends on the outdoor table, or just take your morning coffee under the shade of the lemon tree. There is no doubt that the time you spend here will make you feel as a local! There is a beautiful swimming pool, located in the garden at the back of the villa. You also have access to our pool's jacuzzi to unwind. Around the pool you can find sunbeds & umbrellas where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful mountain view in total privacy, away from prying eyes.
