Villa Lago is a one of one traditional Greek Island estate. At over 100 years old and previously home to Skiathos aristocracy, the Villa features many fine details and moments reminiscent of a bygone era where nothing was quick and everything was deliberate.
The Villa sits on an acre that plays host to abundant fruit trees, a small vineyard, a garden, and various outdoor areas to relax and take in the beauty of Skiathos. Guests are free to use the space creatively so long as it's done with respect for the space and our neighbors. We encourage you to host a dinner party on our pavilion, invite a bouzouki band to serenade you and your friends, or do a photoshoot using our stunning backdrops - the possibilities are endless.
This property hosts an international artist residency three times a year. These artists leave behind work that's featured throughout the property and while the artists may be absent during your stay, the Villa remains infused with their passion and love.
The Villa is home to two friendly Kokonaki dogs, a dozen chickens, a cat, and a lamb. Also on site for your viewing pleasure are Byzantine artifacts and other antiques.
Vasili is a full time Skiathos resident originally from the USA who oversaw the purchase, development and now commercial use of the property. When he's not pouring his soul into making Lago Skiathos an international hub for creativity and beauty you can find him cooking, hiking and spearfishing - any of which he would be happy to share with guests. Just ask!
The neighborhood is called Amoudia - which means "beach", because of our proximity to the beach! We are located atop an aquifer which explains our abundance of trees and other greenery. Almost all of our direct neighbors are full time residents of Skiathos and are wonderful people.
We are conveniently located across the street from the primary grocery store and are a 5 minute walk to the airport and 15 minute walk to Papadiamanti street. Each of which are under 2 minutes away by car.
