Kamilari is the ideal base from which to explore the lovely plain of Messara, its beautiful beaches, like Kalamaki beach (about 3km), Kommo beach (about 3 km) or Matala beach (about 6 km) and the archaeological sites Festos, Agia Triada, Gortys (within 10 km) . Kamilari is an unhurried place with authentic tavernas and kafenions, as well as super markets and a butcher shop.
