The living room with its large and comfortable sofa invites you to relax, as well as a 65-inch TV and a reading corner. The huge window front gives an unobstructed view of the terrace and the sea. About the city of Rethymnon: the city was created in Minoan years and was an agricultural fishing settlement, part of Minoan Crete. In 1204 it was conquered by the crusaders, who sold it to the Venetian Lords. In 1538 the pirate Barbarosa attempts to conquer Rethymno, as a result of which the first fortification of the city was started by the Venetian Lords with large stone boulders. Then, in 1542, the castle of the city Fortezza is built, which is a jewel for the city, and its coastal fortification on its north side is completed. The old Venetian harbour, the Rimondi Fountain, the club of the Venetian Knights called Lotzia and Venetian officials are still maintained in the old town and are well worth a visit. Apart from the Venetian occupation in 1669, the city was conquered by the Turks and remained under Turkish rule until 1897. For these two hundred years, Rethymno is in decline. In the old town, there are examples of Muslim architecture such as the Conservatory and a Turkish bath. Remarkable historical sites that you can visit are the Castle of Forteza, the lotzia, the Clock Tower of the Diocese, the Turkish Mosque the Quora Gate and the Turkish school in Asia Minor Square.
