Welcome to our family's Rimba's House, which is located in Batu Kapal, North Sumatra, Indonesia in the middle of the jungle. You will find our beautiful Rimba's House a 40-minute walk or 15-minute motor bike ride from Bukit Lawang village on the peaceful Landak River overlooking Gungung Leuser National Park. The surrounding is green, untouched and peaceful, which is perfect for nature lovers and people looking for a tranquil place to get away from a busy city life. Since the place is boarding the national park is suitable for people who like adventure and exploring the nature and wild life. When you wake up you can see see wild Orangutans from your room, and other monkeys. Enjoy our traditional Indonesian family food, where we only use natural and fresh ingredients. We offer tree rooms, with double beds. Two rooms have cowered seating area and/or a balcony. One room has a big window view with a main door that opens straight to the front porch. Each of the room has its own toilet, fen and mosquito net.
Asian and western breakfast options with local specialities, pancakes and fruits are available each morning at the guest house. Guests can also order lunch and dinner, but have to say a day before, so we can arrange everything. We grow our own vegetables and from trees you get fruits. We specialise in Asian cuisine, can also do Western and also offer vegetarian, vegan and halal options.
Kualanamu International Airport is 116 km from the property, and the property offers airport shuttle service ( additional charge).
There are so many activities to see and do when you visit us. Swimming in the river, night snorkelling in the river and other night activities. We do private tour of the Cave which is right next to the house. And in the mornings you can see behind the house Orangutans. Exploring Jungle trekking (one or more days) or night trekking with a professional guide. All our guides are professionals and a part of a family.
We can also organise your day trip to see Sumatra Orangutan treks choose from our popular 3-hour trek, 1 day, 2 days or more. There you can see the wonderful Orangutans that call this place home. The Gunung Leuser National Park is home to over 7000 Orangutans, most of them wild with a small semi-wild population (approx. 220 were released here after rescue).
