Bookable for stays of a week or more, this delightful self-catering accommodation is situated in the picturesque village of Monasteraden, County Sligo.
Lough Gara Lodge offers a spacious and comfortable holiday home, perfect for larger family groups of all ages wishing to share time together.
The accommodation is on three floors. We provide six bedrooms at ground floor level, each equipped with en-suite and TV.
The first floor contains a small but well-equipped kitchen where family meals can be prepared to share in the adjoining spacious 12 seater dining room. Adjacent to the dining room is the large games room with table tennis, foosball, table hockey, and many other fun filled activities. The next floor contains the TV lounge where you can choose from an extensive selection of DVDs, simply relax and read a book from the library, or play one of our board and card games.
To the rear is a pretty sun filled garden complete with a gas BBQ, patio and a small goldfish pond.
We have installed a 7Kw EV charging station, available to guests at resonable rates.
The newly refurbished and lively village pub is just a moment’s stroll from Lough Gara Lodge, and provides delicious evening meals on weekends.

Ivan and Veronica have been operating this accommodation for 20 years. There are many interesting local walks which begin right outside our front door from which we often explore the local archaeology, flora and fauna. We very much enjoy introducing our guests to the joys of country life and to the many fun filled activities available locally.
Monasteraden is a quiet Sligo village set on a height overlooking Lough Gara in County Sligo. It has easy access to major routes to the west and north west and is only 20 km from Knock airport. The village has an interesting RC Church and popular pub with a very friendly clientele. The Supermarket in the nearest town of Ballaghaderren is well stocked with everything you need and for those days you don't fancy cooking the local takeaways will deliver direct to your door.
Lough Gara is well known for its neolithic island crannógs and excellent coarse fishing. A little further away but still within walking distance are the ruins of Moygara Castle. an interesting remnant from the middle ages.
The local graveyard is also interesting as it on the site of an ancient cashel and is one of the last circular graveyards in use.
The local roads are very quiet and provide excellent opportunities for looped walks or runs and provide many opportunities to gather bilberries and other wild summer and autumn fruits.
