I live in Schull since 1988, still travelling the world for pleasure and business.
In 2001 I designed and built my Rock Hill House on the scenic Colla Road and moved in with my children.
In 2013 I converted my home into a BnB and put a lot of thought into that task. All my knowledge and experience about hospitallity went into it to make this a very special place for others to feel special.
Rock Hill House is a small, peaceful, tranquile, bright and cheerful BnB. Decorated with very personal and unique style. A place to breath and relax.
So enjoy the seaviews and gardens in the Irish elements of blazing blue skys and dramatic storms. Experience the cosy and warm winter nights as well as the bright and breezy summer days. Sleep well in the comfortable BEDs & indulge in the freshly prepared and cooked BREAKFASTs.
Walk around. Hang around. Read a book. Do Yoga or Tai Chi. Or whatever. You are very welcome to enjoy paradise.
Growing up in Germany I travelled as a child with my parents to the most beautiful places in Europe. In times with no internet or even proper catalogues my Dad always found these extraordinary locations with amazing views over mountains and sea shores. He found these private guesthouses with families which took our family in as their own. Lovely memories of hospitallity.
Later in life, after I finished University and started to work as Creative Director in advertising I went into the world and travelled to far away and exotic places. I have stayed and lived in high and low places in the most busy cities or remote locations. I experienced warm welcomes and some frustrations. But I learned what makes you feel right and happy away from home.
When I started my family with 2 children I was very homebound and after a couple of years began my own catering service. The poor economy and the late working hours turned out to be a problem - so - here we are. I opened my BnB.
Cooking in the morning. Taking care of lovely travellers from all over the world. Thats my pleasure I want to share with you.
Schull, Schull, Schull by the sea - the most wonderful place to be. Thats what my children learned in school from sister Sheila. And its true.
The harbour bay, the islands, the sailing boats. Mount Gabriel. Barley Cove beach and Mizen Head. Lunch in Crookhaven in Billy O'Sullivans Bar. A walk to Three Castle Head with a pick nick. Boat trip to Cape Clear or Baltimore. All kinds of maritime activities. Nightlife!!! on Schull mainstreet. AND- Bed & Breakfast in Rock Hill House. What else do you want?!
Double check on tripadvisor. You are always welcome.
