The hosts are the sons of one of the pioneers of Wayanad. A Zoroastrian lad who landed in Wayanad, because he was advised in 1927, to go to a place of abundant greenery, to recover from fast fading eyesight. Yazdy Palia, one of the hosts, enjoys the company of sporting people, both young and the elderly, knowledgeable & simple. All fun loving people are welcome & will surely go back, fresh, rejuvenated and full of memories of nice days spent at Woodside.

The property is in the midst of an organic coffee and pepper farm. It is located adjacent to natural forest, in the beautiful Wayanad district of Kerala. Being an organic farm and adjacent to wild forest makes it a unique place to stay. It could be one place that may be unique for botanists, for ornithologist, for entomologist, for people who love solitude. Wayanad, is part of the Western Ghats, a Biological hotspot. Wayanad also boasts of a World Heritage site. Beautiful lakes , waterfall, wildlife Sanctuary, and spices. The property is far away from the city and people who enjoy country-sides , particularly forests sides, will enjoy staying at Woodside. People who are looking for a place in the city, with all kinds of amenities available at any time, are not likely to like the place. It is only fair that we state this right in the beginning.

Neighbourhood information

The property, is located at the of the forest, where even during the day, deer, the giant Malabar squirrel (Ratufa Indica), large raptors and plenty of forest birds could be sighted, on most days. The property, is located 13 kms from the city of Sultan Bathery, where you have plenty of good hotels and restaurants serving all types of food. The property is 26 Kms from Kuruva Island, which is a pleasant tourist destination. Towards Sultan Bathery, you have the world heritage sight "Edakkal caves". A little away, you have the Museum. Wayanad being a large district each tourist destination is quite far apart from each other.
