We have been having guests since 2004. They say that our strength is the warmth we welcome them with, our beautiful house, our care for details and our delicious, hearty and varied breakfast which consists of fruit juices, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, home-made croissants and cakes, different kinds of home-baked bread, jams made with our organic fruit, ham and cheese, tea, coffee or milk. It is served on a large table under the cross vaults and it is the best moment to chat with us or with the other guests coming from all over the world, exchanging opinions about the best places to visit, the best restaurants, festivals and Tuscan traditions.

Tired of living in a big city, we left Milan in 2002 and moved to this wonderful spot of Tuscany. We bought a part of a large two hundred year old farmhouse, renovated it and opened A Casa di Lizzy. Come and stay with us, we want to share our experience with you. I, Lizzy, teach English and French, take care of the inside of our house and love chatting with our guests. If they need me, I'm always there. Lorenzo takes care of the outside : olive trees, vines, fruit trees, vegetables but most of all his beatutiful garden. He will tell you how to recognize the real extra-virgin olive oil.

The Alta Valdera, the valley of the river Era and birthplace of Vespa scooter and Andrea Bocelli, provides tourists with a stunning panorama in a most typical Tuscan landscape, the landscape that comes to mind whenever you think of Tuscany: sweet hills, vineyards, olive trees, roads lined with cypresses, and charming medieval hill top villages. The Alta Valdera is not on a well trodden tourist route and this may be the reason why it still remains authentic and genuine and keeps producing the best harvests: excellent wines and rich, perfumed extra-virgin olive oil used in making the very special and unique dishes in the Italian cuisine of Tuscany. Volterra, San Gimignano and San Miniato are at 30 minute driving distance, while it takes less than one hour to reach Pisa, Lucca, Florence and the sea coast. There are also a lot of lovely little medieval hamlets at 10/15 minutes from our house and Andrea Bocelli's Teatro del Silenzio, besides historical wineries and farms producing excellent pecorino cheese, organic flours and pasta.
