The environment is really very safe and calm, despite of the fact that Poggio Mirteto is very close to Rome. No robbery neither criminalties are known, here, and I can definitely say that you can leave the door open with no risk at all!
Many restaurants are available, also at walking distance, if you come here without a car, or don't want to drive. All the restaurant allow you to taste the specialties of the Sabina region as well as to have the best pizzas or specialties of the Italian cooks.
During springtime and summer you can find exhibitions, concerts and a number of local events in all the villages in the nearby. Nice walks on the mountains, several swimming pools are available.
