The old part is on a hill that overlooks the valley below and has the Orobic Alps behind it to protect it, where it's possible walk along beautiful paths and, during the winter, there are many areas where to ski. The small and very beautiful lake Endine is very close to Bergamo, as well as the Lake Iseo. And, of couirse Lake Como, lake Garda and Lake Maggiore. All easy to reach by car, bus or train. Buses from the Orio airport take you to Milan's city centre in one hour, in two hours you can reach Verona and in two and a half hours Venice.
