This nice, large apartment with exciting architecture is housed in the old defensive wall from the 13th century that surrounds Panicale and has a lovely old garden that was laid out in 1898 when the castle moat was filled. Here, the Cesarini family has pressed both grapes and olives, and until the 70s there were hens that provided the family with fresh eggs and chicken when grandmother was going to cook Sunday dinner.
The apartment got its name Bonaparte because part of the decor comes from Napoleon's brother Lucien Bonaparte thanks to a long friendship with his descendants.
Despite its old history, there is no lack of modern comfort and the apartment was recently renovated. There is a spacious dining room with kitchenette, two bedrooms (one with a double bed, one with two separate beds). There is also extra space with a sofa bed in the room leading to the garden, which is a meeting place for family and guests of Principessa, and there is a dining area under the pergola.
Creating a good experience for guests and travelers in Italy, especially in Panicale, is what we enjoy most. We both have a long experience of working with tourism, events and service in Sweden and Italy. Panicale is both our source of inspiration and haven for relaxation. There is so much life in this little village situated in a quiet and beautiful environment. Welcome for an unforgettable stay!
Panicale is a small medieval castle on the hill overlooking Lake Trasimeno. Despite it is an ordinary village here you are immersed in everything that has contributed to making Italy famous: history, art, food. Pagan gods, saints, powerful popes, warlords and famous artists have forever left their mark. But above all, you get to meet the people of the village; in the bars, in the square and in the shops. Here you will find the genuine Italy with its timeless atmosphere as well as a spontaneous hospitality and kindness that adds something extra to your stay. You can participate in different events; the wine harvest festivity, the oil festivity, the chestnut festivity, the cheese competition, the Easter processions through the village, and many performances in the piazza and at the historical Teatro Caporali.
Only a few kilometers away are the Umbrian cities of Perugia, Assisi and Orvieto where you can also enjoy a wonderful classic atmosphere and many historic sights.
