Salty scents, picturesque streets, souvenir shops, typical Castellanese dishes, folklore and lots of sea. Perched on a large promontory facing the sea, Castelsardo with its Citadel, the Casteddu district, the labyrinth of winding streets in the old city, offers an enchanting view. The promontory of Castelsardo has a unique position on a rocky trachyte cliff, where the Castle stands out, which today houses the Museo dell'Intreccio, and several annual events and conferences. With its steps and the labyrinth of narrow streets, flanked by typical tall, narrow houses and stone-paved squares, the historic centre has the same layout it has had since its foundation in 1102, over 900 years ago.
