The name ‘Giafari’ derives from the Arabic word Jaʽfar, meaning in Arabic "small river” or “creek”. The house is nestled in the characteristic “Giafari district”, on a historic staircase that whisper stories of the past. Close by is a Roman water filtration system that still serves the city today. Also within easy access of the stunning Ionian coast, the theme of Casa Giafari is inspired by the life and rejuvenation provided by the proximity of waters.
