A young architect from Courmayeur, he graduated in Architecture at Politecnico di Torino in 1994 with the final mark of 110/110 and a recognition for the Originality of his final dissertation awarded by the Torino’s Employers’ association.
After teaching Industrial and Street Furniture Design at Politecnico as an adjunct professor for a few years, and attending a few specializing courses in Interior Design and Bio-architecture, he started his own architecture firm in 1997.
A mountaineering and ski mountaineering lover, after experiencing the great classics of Alps in the Aosta Valley, he fell in love with ultra-trail in 2014 and has been training for it ever since. This new experience, together with mountaineering, has shaped a new idea of life that he applies to personal as well as architectural design endeavours.
Courmayeur’s culture is deeply linked to Mont Blanc’s history, but it’s not just mountaineering. This town’s traditions can be sampled at several moments: from the saint patron celebrations in the villages, to Carnival; from the Bread Feast in Dolonne to the arrival of Rhémy de Noel on Christmas Eve; from Desarpa (when cows come down from alpine pastures) to the Lighting of the Tree celebration on December. Courmayeur’s culture and traditions can be sampled through its typical products, taking a walk in the villages. With more than 100 km of ski runs, Courmayeur ranks top in terms of winter sports offer in Italy and Europe. For Nordic ski lovers there is the Ferret valley, which also offers runs for non-experts. There are off-piste skiing, with the routes on the Toula glacier and those in the Vallée Blanche, which links the Mer de Glace glacier to Chamonix on the French side of Mont Blanc. When in Courmayeur, it is impossible to miss climbing up the Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Europe. On board the Mont Blanc Skyway, in a few minutes you reach over 2,000 metres above sea level, immersed in a breathtaking landscape thanks to the 360° rotation cabin.
