This beautiful nineteenth century farmhouse, recently renovated, is part of the Fattoria Il Leccio, which for several years has been producing high quality extra virgin olive oil, inhabited and owned by the same family for four generations. It is situated on a hill overlooking the Valle del Mugnone, a beautiful valley that offers a panoramic view of the Fiesole hill, and of part of Florence, through rolling hills of olive trees. Some novellas of the Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio, in the 13th century, take place in this valley. The property is located in a quiet and peaceful rural setting in the countryside just 8 km away from Florence. It is connected to the town of Caldine by a small paved country road among the olive trees with the last 100 meters of dirt road near the house. However, it is accessible to all types of cars or vans. Personal transportation is advised.

Lorenzo, a graduate in Agricultural Sciences, works in the Farm every day, experimenting innovative methods of organic farming, producing olive oil, various vegetables, fruits and saffron. Flavia, Arts Manager, cellist, passionate about music and theater, loves to take care of the development of the planning and communication of the Agriturismo. The mother Sandra, a graduate in Political Science, devotes her time to furnishing and designing the apartments. Andrea the father, concert pianist and former Conservatory teacher, divides his time between love for music and for the countryside. In the town of Caldine, 5 minutesaway, from the Fiesole-Caldine station with free parking a local train will take you to Florence S.M. Novella station, in the historical center of Florence, in 12 minutes. Fiesole, 5 km away, ancient Etruscan settlement of the seventh century BC. offers an Etruscan museum, the Convent of S. Francesco, beautiful Villas and gardens open to the public and various possibilities for beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside. Florence, city of art of the Renaissance with its innumerable works of art famous throughout the world, also offers some lesser known important sites that we will be happy to indicate to our guests. At about 60/90 minutes by car Siena, S. Gimignano, Lucca, Pisa, Arezzo, the beautiful Chianti countryside and many significant places for natural beauty and historical importance.
