Il giardino dei mirti Costa  Adriatica. A 300 mt dal mare. Nel parco di TERRA D'OTRANTO. Nel caratteristico paesaggio salentino è collocata la "pajara". Tipica costruzione salentina. Un tempo usata come riparo temporaneo o giornaliero da tali contadini che, con molti sacrifici, hanno strappato alla terra avara il necessario per sopravvivere insieme alle loro famiglie; pertanto queste costruzioni sono le più sacre testimonianze della civiltà contadina. Totalmente ristrutturata ha preso il nome di "il giardino dei mirti". Circondata da una rigogliosa vegetazione tipica della "macchia mediterranea". Dai colori intensi. Dai profumi inebrianti. Il mirto ne fa da padrone affiancato dall'alloro, dal carrubo, dagli ulivi........il mare fa da cornice. Invasivo, imponente. Si riesce a sentirne il profumo. Spettacolare è il variare dei colori della natura. La pajara è la vedetta di questo incantevole giardino. Pur mantenendo le sue originarie caratteristiche architettoniche, è stata ridata a nuova vita con grande fatica da artigiani fedeli alle vecchie tecniche di lavorazione della pietra e dei tufi.
