After many years of study and working in the tourism industry in Italy and abroad, I decided to return home to Syracuse and create my own business. One of the principal philosophy of work of Maecò Ortigia B&B, is based on achieving comfort, but not without thinking of respect and protection of the environment. Maecò Ortigia B&B is located in via Landolina n.5, as part of the Palazzo Francica Nava, which was originally built in the 15th century in the Catalan Gothic style. Following the devastating earthquake of 1693 the building was rebuilt with some Baroque additions and used by Jesuits until it was bought by the Francica Nava family, from which it still retains the name. The renovation, completed at the beginning of 2016, followed the coherence of the original architecture with the intention being to keep alive the typical Sicilian atmosphere, and recreate a place to feel at home.

Maecò Ortigia B&B is located only few steps from Piazza Duomo, in one of the most prestigious position, in the heart Ortigia Island. The most interesting cultural sites are reachable by foot, as well as the best shops and restaurants. Among the most famous places, we suggest to visit Fonte Aretusa, Castello Maniace, Piazza Archimede and Ortigia Market, famous for the sensorial experience that gives to its visitors.
